WHAT IS "KAMEN RIDER" YOU ASK?

仮面ライダー (Masked Rider) is a long-running weekly Japanese tokusatsu (special effects) TV series created by Shotaro Ishinomori, that basically revolves around  a Japanese young man who turns into a motorcycle-riding masked super hero to fight monsters and evil organizations often linked to his own origin.

WHERE TO START?

Mostly every installment of the franchise is a self-contained story with a different protagonist, set of villains and plot, so you can pick any one you find appealing and start there. The original Kamen Rider series and manga, V3, Black, ZO, Kuuga, Kabuto, Double, Fourze, Amazons and the series currently airing are usually recommended as good starting points.
Productions are posted in chronological order with links to find English subtitled versions. In cases where many versions exists, most recommended complete versions are marked with ★.
Bootleg English subtitles for all the movies from 1971 to 1987 can be found HERE.
All series from 2001 onwards have also been translated by TV-Nihon, but that group is not listed now that versions with better video and translation quality exist.
Some of the older movies were just theatrical versions of TV episodes. Those movies were excluded from this guide.
